Which education system (European or Asian) best prepares students for the work of the future (knowledge economy) ?
The Asian education system best prepares students for the work of the future as compared to the European education system. The Asian education system limits students' subject choices to the ones that provide relevance to the future knowledge economy. Science and Maths subjects are preferred, Arts subjects are heavily discouraged. Example can be observed in the island nation of Singapore, one of Asia's leading educational hub, where majority of students are enforced to take one maths subject and at least two science subject for their A levels, arts subjects is less emphasized whereby only one art subject is required. The focus on practical subjects gives students the edge in terms of deeper knowledge of skills. This is essential for students' dominance in their careers fields in the future, as they would need a large scope of knowledge to be able to implement technological innovations highly regarded in the knowledge economy. On the other hand the European educational system is more relax and do not have a specific limit for their students in what subjects they should take. Students thus may drift off and study subjects which do not provides them with practical scientific skills required to drive technological innovations. They hence are less competent than their Asian counterparts in the search for technological innovation high regard in the future knowledge economy.

1.) The video is about how technology changes the types of jobs that we do, and how we do it. It also shows the future of the work we do. Firstly, the future of work is transparent, where nobody will just take your word for it, and tracking tools are used to measure productivity. Secondly, the future of work is flat, nobody is going to complain about their commute, and location will not matter. Thirdly, the future of work will be competitive, we will not be paid just for having a degree, because more and more people in America are getting college degrees, and jobs will go global. Fourthly, the future of work will be on demand. Fifth, the future of work will allow individuals to have more freedom and power.
2.) We feel that the European education system better prepares students for the future as it shapes students to learn independently and allows more room for creativity which is required in jobs in the future. The education system in Finland encourages independent learning by letting students learn at their own pace and in things they like. Finnish schools are allowed to develop their own curriculum to best suit their students' strengths and weaknesses instead of forcing them to study compulsory subjects, some of which they are not good in, and making students follow a strict schooling system. the Finnish school system is relaxed and allows for children to learn independently instead of having a teacher telling them what to do, with more project based independent learning. this can allow more room for creativity as the students are allowed to think differently unlike in many Asian schools where tests are standardised and teachers instruct while students learn and memorise, not allowing them to develop their creativity. Students will also not be able to learn on their own and choose not to venture out of the comfort zone. Asian students are less proactive in class, tend not to ask questions and just follow instructions.
European students like the Finnish students will do well in the jobs of the future because of their ability to think out of the box and their ability to be critical thinkers to help the company progress. In the near future employers would be looking out for people with creativity, not just a person with very good qualifications. Jobs in the future require individuals with creative mindsets and are vocal and proactive towards learning. Therefore the European education system better prepares students for the future.

Response: Which education system (European or Asian) better prepares students for the work of the future (knowledge economy)?
European education system better prepares students for the future as it allows more room for creativity to develop. Quoting from the 'Future Work' video, education is easily accessible, and degree holders are very common in the society nowadays. Having a degree does not guarantee a job, and innovation is crucial to allow a person to stand out. Companies nowadays outsource for employees not because of cheaper labour wages but for talented people who are creative and innovative, and are able to contribute to their companies. In European schools, students are encouraged to have more outdoor, practical learning activities, exposing them more to the outside world. For example, students in Finland are taught through pedagogic approaches, rather than mere instructional methods, hence facilitating greater creativity and innovation. From these engaging activities, students are able to develop their creativity as they are not restricted to plain classroom lessons and forced to memorise information given by their teachers. This kind of stress-free environment is beneficial to students as they can learn more in a better way without having too much stress from their teachers and parents, as being over-stressed negatively affects their health and ability to learn well. However, in Asian countries, education is focused more on the performance of students, grading students according to their performance in tests and exams, which are actually meant to monitor the progress and identify the weaknesses of students. This performance-oriented system forces students to memorise information instead of understanding the contents, and always using model answers during exams. It doesn't allow much room for students to develop their creativity as the information is shaped in the same way for everyone. As a result, Asian students lack of the creativity which can be found in European students, and in the society nowadays, creativity is crucial for a person to succeed in his career as employers are looking for talented individuals who have the creativity. Therefore, the European education system better prepares students for the future as it allows more room for creativity to develop, as compared to the Asian education system, hence giving European students an upper hand when it comes to job opportunities.

The video is about how
technology influences our future jobs.
--
Firstly, the future of work is transparent, where earnings are directly
proportional to one's productivity. --Secondly,
the future of work is flat, where there is no need to worry about communication
because of the ample technology we have. --Thirdly,
the future of work will be competitive, having a degree may not be enough, as
employers seek creative employees. --Lastly,
the future of work will be on demand, where there is constant competition, one
should make himself stand out from the crowd to earn that job.
We believe that the European education system is better than the Asian system at preparing students to meet the challenges of a competitive knowledge economy as it allows room for students to develop their creativity. For example, Finnish pre-schools for three to seven-year-olds are focused on play. The play-based curriculum stimulates creative development and allows a lot of room for individual experimentation. This is essential as creativity is a very important soft skill that employers seek in applicants. As more and more graduates hold degrees nowadays, it has gradually became less significant. It is the soft skills that each individual possess that makes them stand out from others and not the degree they hold anymore. People in today’s world need to realize that it is necessary for one to be creative and become creative problem solvers as these are skills of the future. On the contrary, the Asian educational system is highly instrumental, competitive and performance-orientated and such a system does not provide a conducive climate for creativity. Students are made to memorize countless of information every day and to follow a set of model answers. This actually limits students' creativity more than anything else because it is so egregious and is solely focused on how well you can cram and memorize things one may forget right after. This way of teaching results in students rarely have the chances to develop their creativity or have their own thoughts.

Is the BNW model of sex without strings attached and no concern about procreation, an acceptable one for today's world?
The BNW model of sex without strings attached and no concern about procreation is not an acceptable model for today's world. This model shows no difference between humans and animals. Sex became a behavior to satisfy their sexual desires. In today's world, sex is the emotional bridges between two people who are in love. This means they are ready to commit their love to that only one. However, in BNW, "every one belongs to every one else". Also, Lenina is being laughed at when she confess that she was being faithful to one man. In BNW, sex is nothing but something to satisfy their needs. And they are not concerned for any consequences that might happen as they are not responsible of producing the next generation. But in today's world, sex is a behavior to prove their love and to create the next generation. Therefore, this model is an unaccepted behavior.

Future of work:
The future of work is a whole new paradigm, on one hand it is unpredictable due to the ever-changing and modernising world , with referrence to the web and social networking sites and IT industry-related jobs that were non-existant in the last decade or two before rapid technological advances in the net. On the other hand, amount of productivity is becoming measurable with implementation of tracking programmes and the like, so that the amount of work clocked in by employees and the effort they commute can now be proportional to the salary they obtain , reducing the need of complains of unfair wages and disproportionate workloads, and this increases efficiency of businesses as employers are now guranteed that employees do not get away with downtime and motivates them to put in their best performance around the clock to achieve the maximum gains. Future of work is also a competitive one, and employees are not guranteed a lifetime job. Employers tend to employ via contracts of several years rather than hire new employees, so as to constantly take in new batches of innovative and efficient workers and to spurr existing ones to work harder to keep their jobs. Demand for innovation becomes the key , and upgrading oneself is essential to keep up pace with the future of work. Education is now easily accessible, be it through informal education via online wikipedias and articles, or online courses from renowned universities such as Stanford. As such, there is no excuse for not knowing certain information due to self negligence. Degrees no longer equivalent to pay or jobs, with colleges in america being the new highschool as an increasing percentage of them access college as the years go by. Location is also no longer a factor. an example being the huge inconvenient call centres once located in rural areas such as. india, have been replaced with revolutionary customer service sources that can be set up on flight without a central office, as in the case of Jetblue and its revolutionary services. The above two points link me back to the topic on growing competiveness in the future of work, as employers now access a larger skilled workforce with access to degrees and location of work becoming less relevenent obstacles to employees.
Qn: Which education system (European or Asian) best prepares students for the work of the future (knowledge economy) ?
The European education system best prepares students for the work of the future. The Asian education system also prepared student for the work of the future. It takes charge of its students' learning process, and influences him to take safe paths and not take risks. This prevents the students from failure. Also, the student will be more inclined to a job with a good market value. However, this education system is inflexible and causes the student to have a lack of passion and interest in what he studies and what he works as in the future. It also prevents them from having the opportunity to experience and learn from failure. The European education lets the student tale charge of his learning process. They let students choose what to read, what assignments to complete and how to do them. They also encourage students to ask questions and participate actively in class. This helps students to be independent which is important in the work of the future. Also, it helps the students to solve unstructured problems that they may face at work. This also means that students will have the initiative to do things and have curiosity at work. This shows that the European education system best prepared students for work of the future.

1. A short paragraph listing what the video is about
2. Which education system (European or Asian) best prepares students for the work of the future (knowledge economy) ?
1. The video starts off about how technology has advanced in the past 20 years and has opened countless of job opportunities. These jobs never existed in the past, hence the future of work is uncertain. It is transparent, now with devices to keep track of productivity, the more productively you work, the more money you will be able to earn. It is flat, in the past, communication is scare and everyone had to get together to work, however, now with web tools, location does not matter. It is competitive, knowledge is now a must and to be employed, you have to stand out from the rest of the competition across the globe. It is on demand, career is no longer a lifetime thing, but millions of people are forming virtual teams and working together. In the end, the video is telling us to be prepared for work in the future.
2. The European system best prepares students for work in the future. By now, more than 100 million of Americans have worked on a virtual team. The amount of money one earns will start to be dependant on merit and productivity, while competition continues to rise. To be employed, one does not only have tone smart, but also have to be innovative to stand out from the crowd. As the European education system exposes its students to creativity and learning at their own pace, it is easier for students to discover their strengths and weaknesses. Also, as work is given in the form of projects, students are able to learn how to communicate within a team from young, which will benefit virtual teams. Unlike Asian education which provides students with just the knowledge through regimented learning and not the experience for work. Hence, as the European eduction exposes students to how work in the future will function, it best prepares students for work.

Summary
It is normal for a teenager that is in secondary school to own a mobile phone as they go to school themselves and organise outings with their friends without their parent's help as well. The imperial college is studying the effect of mobile phones on a child's attention and memory span. It might seem that teenagers have their phones always by their side and using them constantly, which might seem like a bad thing, but mobile phones can help to give a person the ability to multitask, and gather information quickly, and also train their problem solving skills. Not only children nowadays are inseparable from their phones, adults also check their phones very often for important messages or calls, or simply to just play online games like their children.
Reader's response
Mobile phones are a necessity in the modern world, it help to connect people without much hassle. Imagine a world with no mobile phones, it would be much more difficult to meet up with friends and to know where they are at any time. However, mobile phone addiction is also becoming more and more common. Not only teenagers but also adults are forever looking down at their phones, whether they are doing work or playing games, it discourages interaction between people and will lead to this generation's children to lack social skills. On the other hand, mobile phones help to improve a person's decision making, as it provides the person with sufficient information that the person needs to decide on what action to take. Mobile phones also allow people to be contactable, in case there is an emergency and the person can be notified immediately.

1. Jobs in twenty years will be vastly different.
-Future of work is transparent. Now, Time and task tracking tools allow productivity to be measured and this allows more productive workers to earn more.
- Future of work is flat . Now work is all about communication. Now work is no longer limited to only location. With the invention of social media and Skype people are able to work from other places.
-Future of work is competitive. Competition for jobs is no longer limited to where you live as people can hire people overseas or outsources as companies are now looking for innovation instead of saving more money.
-The future of work is demand. A Lifetime career is not guaranteed. Many businesses are choosing contract relationships over hiring news employees. Nowadays, work is done through virtual teams who are able to work across time and space using collaboration technology.

2.European education system best prepares students for the work of the future. In 2006, more than 28 million Americans worked in a virtual team at least one day per month, and by 2010, that number will grow to over 100 million. Working in a virtual team is beneficial to everyone in future because they are able to practice teamwork even without having to see each other in real life. Moreover, everyone's earning potential is based on merit and not location, and in future, work would not be based on location alone. There would be other factors which are much more important like innovation and creativity. Therefore, European education system best prepares students for the work of future by exposing them to modern technologies which are going to be used for future jobs.

Summary of the video:
The video is about the future of work. It says that the future of work is transparent, on demand, competitive and flat. In the past, productivity was very hard to measure, tons of money are wasted every year to pay for employee downtime. In the present, there are jobs that were not here 20 years ago, it is said that people that are jobless would have a job in the future that is not created now but by the future. Every year, the amount of diplomats, people with degrees increase, because everyone has the equal rights for education. It turns the market into a very competitive one. People are jobless because, there are too few jobs available, but too many people. To be employed, one needs to stand out from the crowd to show how outstanding he/she could be. One has to have unique skills that nobody has. The employers now wants originality instead of degrees. Degrees are side factor now because almost everyone has one, creativity varies from individual and shows one's individuality.
Answering the question:
I think that the European education best prepares students for the work of future. As said in the video, employers now are searching for individuality, not degrees. Why are degrees not as important as before? It is because there is an increasing amount of degree holders entering the society that are searching for jobs. In the past, employers wanted degree holders because degree holders were so rare and it shows how much knowledge the graduate has. But now, everyone has knowledge, it becomes the creativity one has. European education emphasizes on developing the individuality instead of wanting the students to memorize textbooks and model answers. Asian education, rather, emphasizes on building the knowledge students have, instead of their creativity. European education gives students more free space to develop, they have no specific format the students had to follow besides asking the students to do their best and hand in the assignment on time and give them the most, 30 minutes of homework only, which is Finland. There is no conformity in Finland, the students could choose what to wear to school, they could freely voice their opinions to suggest ideas. However, Asian education constricts the students' minds by asking them to memorize the model answers to get a perfect score. They would rarely mark on the creativity of the student, but instead test on how much they memorize. For example, in China, although it is not official, but they do require students to memorize what was taught in class to score for their tests and they would have tons of homework to do and they would have very less time to rest at all, or develop their own creativity side. Thus European education is better than Asian education in preparing them for the work of future.

Q2 WHICH EDUCATION SYSTEM (EUROPEAN OR ASIAN) BEST PREPARES STUDENTS FOR THE WORK OF THE FUTURE (KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY) ?
We believe that the European education system better prepares students for the future as it encourages students to do independent learning and promotes a passion for lifelong learning. As reported in an article by the National Education Association, In a Finnish classroom, it is rare to see a teacher standing at the front of a classroom lecturing students for 50 minutes. Instead, students are likely to determine their own weekly targets with their teachers in specific subject areas and choose the tasks they will work on at their own pace. In a typical classroom, students are likely to be walking around, rotating through workshops or gathering information, asking questions of their teacher, and working with other students in small groups. They may be completing independent or group projects or writing articles for their own magazine.
This cultivates independence and active learning which allows students to develop metacognitive skills that help them to frame, tackle, and solve problems; evaluate and improve their own work; and guide their learning processes in productive ways.
In the future, work will not just require academic qualifications like a degree, but instead employers would be looking to hire people who stand out from the crowd, These people are creative and have a positive attitude towards learning and improving. The education system in Finland allows for independent learning and ample opportunities for students to acquire and learn, instead of rushing through lessons and drilling countless practice questions. Although with a fast-paced lesson that works towards achieving good results does improve one’s learning and helps students to get the required practice, it restrains their creativity and leaves little room for students to express themselves.Furthermore in many Asian schools, the students are spoon fed with information and they just absorb it. It is rare that they ask questions and do their own research to delve deeper into the topic. Hence, the European education system is better at preparing students for the future as the students do their own independent learning and it encourages students to develop a passion for lifelong learning.

Which education system (European or Asian) best prepares students for the work of the future (knowledge economy) ?
The European education system best prepares students for the work of the future. In the future, we do not know what kind of jobs to expect as new jobs will emerge. In the future, location does not matter, tools like Skype have made long-distance calling virtually free. Crowdsourcing is now common and the skills to be able to be work virtually is crucial. A degree will not be sufficient in securing a job in the even more competitive future workforce where employers will seek all rounded workers not just people who excel in academics. The European education system promotes creativity and agrees that just by having a degree won't get you a job. They provide more opportunities to have online learning and to think out of the box. For example, in Finnish schools, the teachers are allowed to design their own curriculum and not follow a standard curriculum like in the Asian education system. This means that they will be more flexible when they are out in the workforce in the future. As compared to the education system in Asia, students are accessed by tests and the answers are standardised, which doesn't access our creativity and problem solving skills. In the work of the future, just by getting a degree doesn't guarantee us a job. Employers are now seeking more from employees including other non-academic wise skills. Employers do not seek people who can answer questions to a test, they need people who can think, but in the Asian education system where little thought is evoked in students, the students are too study orientated. Therefore, the European education system best prepares students for the work of the future as they learn skills that are crucial for in the future, and not just drilling exam papers and learning by memorisation in the Asian education system.

1) The society is ever changing with the constant advancement of technology. Many current jobs were not existing 20 years ago.The future of work is transparent. It is easier now to track tasks and save time. Each employees work can be directly tied to the bottom line. The more productively you work, the more money you make. The future of work is flat.No one is gonna complain about their commute. In the future, location will not matter as people can work from anywhere as long as they have access to internet. The future of work is competitive. No one is gonna pay you just because you have a degree because more and more people in america are getting college degrees.Theres no longer an excuse to not know 'how'.To stay employed in the workforce of the future, you need to stand out. This is important because in the future, individuals will have more freedom and power than ever before.Your earning potential will be based on merit, not location.Employers will have access to a larger and more skilled workforce.
2)The asian education system best prepares students for the future as they not only teach students academically, but also on other skills like creative and innovative thinking which are essential for the future. In many other continents, students are only being taught math and science and other academic subjects, the students are thus very knowledgeable academically but completely lack in skills like creative and innovative thinking. However, the percentage of people having a degree has been increasing, so having an academic degree is definitely not enough. In Singapore, River Valley High School has a Cognitive-Interest Development Curriculum where students are not only given opportunities to develop the right attitude to behave intelligently when confronted with problems, but also critical thinking skills that are crucial in this 21st century. With programs like this, students are not only taught well academically but also learn to develop critical thinking skills. With these skills, they are able to succeed in the workforce as they not only have a degree but are also able to stand out from others. Thus, asian education systems best prepares students for the future as they not only teach students academically, but also on other skills like creative and innovative thinking which are essential for the future.

1.) The future job is transparent, the amount of money earned no longer depend on the time one spend on the work but the productivity of the person. The future job is flat where location is no longer the main concern since communication is efficient across the globe. The future job is competitive where it requires one to stand out. The percentage of people having a university degree has increased, companies are no longer looking for a degree holder but an innovative worker. The future job is on demand, where many virtual teams get together to do a project. Workers in the future will have more freedom and power with a more skilled workforce.
2.) The European education system best prepares students for the future because it helps students to overcome challenges in the competitive working society. In the video, “The Future of Work”, it says that to ensure that one stays employed in the workplace of the future, one must stand out. This is true, especially in today's world because everyone has the same qualifications and degrees. It is no longer enough to have a degree to get a job because everyone else has one too. To stand out, one needs to have creativity. In an Asian education system, one can expect students sitting in a classroom, students have to take notes and memorize those information. They will then be tested on how much they have memorized through high stakes exams at a tender age of twelve and given a grade to see how well they did. This is the main problem in Asian education. The Asian education system is too performance-oriented and stresses on memory work. They are encouraged to memorize information and regurgitate everything out in the exams in order to score well. This discourages flexible thinking and creativity in students and brainwash students that memorizing skills are the most essential. In Finnish schools, students would have regular outdoor practical lessons. They are not stranded and trapped in a classroom, instead, having national examinations at the age of eighteen. This encourages students to think outside the box, by being exposed to an outdoor and different environment. Compared to the rigid education system in Asia countries, students From European schools are more innovative which is essential for the future workforce. Therefore, I believe that the European education system does a better job in preparing students for the future.

This video is showing how technology has changed the way we function and how it affects the future of work. The more productive you are, the more money you make. The future of work is getting flat. With technology, communication no longer becomes something hard to do as people can make use of their devices anywhere and be able to communicate with anyone from around the world. The video also shows that the future will be very competitive as everyone is getting a college degree thus making it harder to find jobs unless you stand out, which is being innovative. This means that one is not guaranteed a lifetime career, and he has to ensure that he does not fall behind the rest.
The European education system beats the Asian equivalent in best preparing students for the work of the future as it encourages creativity and free expression in students alongside formal education. In the future, great emphasis is placed on one's creative ideas. In a society where everyone has equal education qualification, the only way to stand out is how creative and innovative you are in approaching different situations. In the Asian education system, students have standardized curriculum and they do rote memorising. Such means of educating stifle creativity for students as they will feel that answers to key subjects such as mathematics and science are fixed and any forms of variation from the standard answers are unaccepted. Through this, it is instilled in a student that being different is not something one would be rewarded for and thus Asian students will only stick to one thing just to score and get good grades but never thinking differently. However, the European education system provides many platforms for their students to engage in activities which allows them to strengthen their problem solving skills and give them the space to think creatively. In Finnish schools, students would have regular outdoor practical lessons where students are exposed to an unrestrained classroom environment. It is evident that the European system encourages innovation and creativity which helps prepare students when they go into the real world. Thus, we are able to conclude that the European education system is leading in terms being able to prepare students well to complement and excel in the future economy.

2. Which
education system (European or Asian) best prepares students for the work of the
future (knowledge economy)?
The European education system
best prepares students for the future because it helps to nurture creativity
and innovation in their students. The work of the future is competitive and
unpredictable. Nowadays, simply getting a degree is not going to help secure a
job, and the knowledge we gain from learning might no longer be applicable for
the jobs in the ever-changing and unpredictable future. Consequently, teaching
students how to be creative and how to think critically, are skills that will
always stay relevant and applicable, and in fact, these skills will become even
more important in the future. Problematically, the Asian education system is extremely performance-oriented, and students memorize information just to
ace the test. An example is how 12 year olds have to take major exams like the Primary School Leaving Examination. This goes to
prove that the information students in Asian education systems learn now might
not be applicable for jobs of the future, because there will always be new
industries and jobs that emerge. In comparison, European education systems
best prepares students for the work of the future because their approach to
learning teaches students how to think and how to be creative and innovative, rather
than rote learning. For example, Finnish schools receive full
autonomy to develop and deliver their own curricula. This pedagogical freedom experienced
facilitates greater creativity, pro-activity and innovation. Innovation and
creativity that is nurtured in students under European education systems are skills
that will be useful in the future where innovative and creative ideas are in
demand. Hence, European education systems best prepare students for the work of
the future because they nurture creativity and innovation in their students.

The video talks about how technology has severely changed the way we function and how it affects the future of work. Firstly, work productivity used to be hard to measure, but now there are many tools widely available to keep track of workers’ productivity. This reveals what workers do during their jobs, open to public scrutiny by the company, thus labelled as “transparent. The more productive one is, the more merit they earn, which is directly proportional to their monetary benefits. Secondly, work becomes flat. With technology, communication no longer becomes something hard to do as people can make use of their devices anytime, anywhere, getting rid of the large physical gap between regions. Thirdly, it gets competitive. With the many free online courses available to the whole world, people no longer have the excuse of not being educated. It becomes common to attain high education status in our modern world, and is no longer deemed as something difficult. This increases competition within the workforce of the future as many others now have the same qualifications as each other. One no longer stands out from the crowd, and would only be hired by companies if one is deemed to be innovative, creative, or unique. Lastly, it’s on demand. One would not be guaranteed a lifetime career, with such stiff competition, one would have to stand out and be set apart from the rest to ensure he does not fall behind on the bar, which has been set so high due to technology.
Qn: Which education system (European or Asian) best prepares students for the work of the future (knowledge economy)?
What exactly is a knowledge economy? Peter Drucker, a management consultant and author, coined the term “knowledge work” as work that involved the use and manipulation of knowledge and information. Being able to do this easily requires creativity in the brain, and this is why we feel that the European education system best prepares students for the work of the future. For example, Finnish schools receive full autonomy, and head teachers and teachers are allowed considerable independence when developing their own curricula, which means that the curriculum is suited to their setting. The teachers will use alternative teaching methods, and the pedagogical freedom experienced facilitates greater creativity and innovation. This is put into contrast to Asian education systems, where it is highly performance-oriented, and competitive. Asian students typically only avoid failure, and will refuse to take a risk-oriented approach in the learning process. They are encouraged to memorise information before writing everything they memorised down in the examinations, just to achieve a goal of distinction and above. The Asian education system does not allow the students to be able to be flexible in their thinking and discourages the students from thinking out of the box to solve the problems they have at hand. The Asian education system still highlights that intelligence is equated with academic excellence, and children who choose to pursue interests in the non-academic areas are still being stigmatised and viewed as less successful. This also discourages the students to be creative in any way, and will only steer them in the direction of academics, and teach them that academics is the only thing that will bring them success in the future. However, what the future holds is the knowledge economy, and the skills of rote memorising will not help the students much in that kind of work of the future, in contrast to the European education system, where they encourage more thinking and doing rather than memorise and regurgitating. Therefore, we feel that the European education system prepares the students for the work of the future the best.

The video is about the future of work, where it mentions that work in the future will be based on one's productivity, work in the future can be done due to improving communication, increased competition for jobs, crowd sourcing of work and the increased number of people working virtually in the future.
The Asian education system best prepares students for the future by teaching them a variety of skills and knowledge. These skills will allow students to stand out from the rest and shine in the field of studies they are most interested in, allowing them to prepare for the increased competition in the work of the future. Shanghai allows students to take elective courses like language, literature, mathematics, natural science, social sciences, technology, arts and physical education. This gives students a wide selection of subjects they want to study to develop their interests, in which students are encouraged to independently explore these research topics of interest in order to promote social wellbeing, creativity and critical thinking skills, which makes each student stand out differently from the rest under such criteria. This prepares them for the work of the future in that outstanding achievements in their areas will appeal to different companies and firms, for example an IT software developer would want a person who is proficient in the technology aspect to work for him, while a biologist would want a person adept at the sciences to join his team. This allows students to have many career paths to choose from, and prevent a job for a certain aspect from being overcrowded with applicants, and causing people to be unemployed because of limited slots in the job and that other jobs would not accept them as they are not proficient in other areas. Thus the Asian education system best prepares them for the work of the future by allowing students to be good at a variety of aspects, in order to secure a job for the future.

1) The future of work is getting transparent because no one would take your word for it and tools are revolutionising productivity measurement, which means you can't lie about your productivity rate. The more productive you are, the more money you make. The future of work is getting flat, in a sense no one is going to complain about commute. There is a usage of amazing web tools to work together from anywhere in the world such as tools like Skype have made long distance calling virtually free. Thus location will not matter anymore, and earning be potentially based on merit not location. The future of work is getting competitive because no one will pay you for just having a degree since the percentage of ppl with college degree is increasing. Informal education has been made more accessible than ever since websites post educational material for free online. There is no longer excuse to not knowing 'how'. Competition is not comparing with other individuals, and you need to standout, which is by being innovative. The future of work is getting on demand as no one is going to guarantee a life long career. The word "career" is as outdated as the word "typewriter". Individuals will have more freedom and power than before and employer have access to larger and more skilled workforce.
2) Without a doubt, the European education system beats the Asian equivalent in best preparing students for the work of the future as it encourages creativity and free expression in students alongside formal education. The knowledge economy puts great emphasis on an individual’s ideas and creative thinking. “The Future of Work” from the company oDesk stated that to ensure one stays employed in the workplace of the future, one must stand out in terms of creativity. In a society where students are all on par in terms of academic qualifications, the key defining factor would be their level of innovation and approaches to the resolution of different problems. Additionally, with reference to a recent IBM poll of 1500 CEOs identified creativity as the number one “leadership competency” for the future. Furthermore, in the Asian education system, standardized curriculum, rote memorization and nationalized testing, such as the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), form our system’s core focus. Such means of educating stifle creativity for students from as young as 7 years old are taught that answers to key subjects such as mathematics and science are fixed and any forms of variation from the standard answers are unaccepted. Through this process, it is instilled in a student that being different is not something one would be rewarded for and to please the cookie-cutter system, our Asian students obediently comply. In comparison, the European education system promotes learning through experiment and provides many platforms for their students to engage in activities that help them strengthen problem solving skills and give them a basis for free expression of ideas. A common practice in Finnish schools would be regular outdoor practical lessons where students are exposed to an unrestrained classroom environment. By contrasting both systems means of teaching their students, it is evident that the European system has recognized the importance of innovation and creativity so as to produce students that are ready to meet the demands of the knowledge economy and has implemented better methods of promoting these values as compared to the Asian system. Thus, we are able to conclude that the European education system is leading in terms being able to prepare students well to complement and excel in the future economy.
