The focus on practical subjects gives students the edge in terms of deeper knowledge of skills. This is essential for students' dominance in their careers fields in the future, as they would need a large scope of knowledge to be able to implement technological innovations highly regarded in the knowledge economy. On the other hand the European educational system is more relax and do not have a specific limit for their students in what subjects they should take. Students thus may drift off and study subjects which do not provides them with practical scientific skills required to drive technological innovations. They hence are less competent than their Asian counterparts in the search for technological innovation high regard in the future knowledge economy.
