Menstrual Man reflection- Christine Yep 4C

Muruganatham, also known as the menstrual men, is famous for creating sanitary pads for the rural women who cannot afford to buy proper ones. I feel that this film is very inspiring as we can see that it does not require one to be educated to make a difference in the world. As seen in the video, Muruganatham was a school dropout. Yet, he did not let this hold him back. One has to think that he is illiterate to learn more things was something along the line that he mentioned in the film. I feel that this quote could be applied to many people, especially students in River Valley. We are all driven by the fact that one has to receive education to be able to live a comfortable life in the future. Yet, no one thinks that we receive education to make an impact to the society. I feel that this is a very important point that we can take away.
I think Mr Muruganantham serves as a reminder to us that we should not be afraid to dream big in order to accomplish something big. Although there may be many obstacles and challenges to come, with determination and hard work, we will be able to achieve it. Although the Singaporean film industry is small, it is definitely growing as locals are growing to like local productions. Yet, due to the small market in Singapore, it is especially hard for filmmakers to get their films out to the world to gain international recognition, especially when their films are relatable mostly to locals only. Believe that Singapore can have an established film industry in the years to come, especially since we had started it from scratch and it has began to show results.
